GOOD CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS PROFITABLE.

I’ve had good customer support from various companies this week.
One was a telephone call centre that answered promptly and gave the right answer immediately. It was a fibre problem, and a previous service provider made my life very difficult for more than 3 weeks. This time it was 10 minutes. I was very happy to give them a good rating on the Hello Peter site.

A second bit of good service was a potential new supplier. Their site didn’t give me a comprehensive answer, but they had a manned chat facility, so I tried it. A consultant came on the line immediately and gave me all the answers I needed. Unfortunately they did not have the exact product I needed, so the consultant asked if his sales person could contact me via email and I agreed.

In both cases they did not use an AI support agent. This was during office hours so they were able to give me good service. I wonder what would have happened if they were busy or it was after hours?

– Imagine if they could give the same quality service 24 hours a day, no matter how busy they are by using an AI agent.
– Imagine if the cost of the AI agent is far less than the cost of a consultant, call centre agent or receptionist.
– Imagine if the AI agent could start working within 5 days.
– Imagine the AI agent continuing to improve without expensive training.
– Imagine the AI agent working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
