How Productive Are You?

If you are three times as productive as your competitors, if you can do a job four times as fast, will your sales and profits increase?
Silly question! So why don’t you do so?

Let me give a short anecdote from yesterday. We have a small conference and training venue in Ferndale. We worked out a new pricing system and I spent two hours conceptualizing and designing a spreadsheet. It took into account number of delegates, price per person per day or half day, discounts offered for larger number, type of catering required.
Every time I got stuck with a formula, I asked good, old, free ChatGPT for help. The spreadsheet worked perfectly.

I then said to ChatGPT, “I’d like to turn this into a webapp using PHP”.
In 20 seconds it gave me the code that worked! I then said, I’d like to save each quote in a database. In another 20 seconds it gave me code that worked! It then said “Can I improve the layout and functionality?” I said YES and 20 seconds later the code worked.
I could have designed everything myself, but it would have take a lot longer. Five to ten times longer.

The objective of this post is not to convince IT people to use AI because they already know it, but you as businesspeople to understand and use AI in your business. Not for IT only, but for all purposes: automation, customer service, marketing, strategy, meeting, report writing. How you can, how you should re-engineer your business.

AI will give you and all employees more time. Will help you do the job faster, whatever job it is.
Sometimes, like the free version of ChatGPT at no charge.
It is not difficult to use. It does not have to be intimidating. It does not have to be expensive.
It will increase productivity of some employees by 50% to 500%. It will allow you to conceptualize simple improvements in your business that you previously just couldn’t do. Management tasks, business tasks not IT,

Don’t take my word for it. Look at your competitors and see if they are ahead or behind you. I want you to win.
