I read an interesting article yesterday. A man said he was talking to his Uber driver and said in 5-10 years time Uber will not have drivers because they will drive themselves. Obviously the driver was annoyed and became abusive.
While maybe insensitive and made at the wrong time, the comment was 100% correct.
Driving a car is going to become an obsolete job!
It’s no different from telling the horse and cart rider in the 1880s that they will not be needed in 40 years time.
What will Uber drivers do in 15 years time? Rather ask what did they do 15 years ago?
Life changes. In your business what are you going to do in 15 years time? What did you do 15 years ago?
In both cases it’s okay to say “I don’t know, but I’ll keep thinking.”
